THE INTERNATIONAL FOLK FESTIVAL "MONTANA 2007"
Czech The Dance Group of ensemble „Radovan" from Napajedla - Czech Republic, was established in 1953. It is inspired by the rich folk heritage of the region Moravian Slovakia. Its repertoire is built from songs and dances from the territory around Napajedla, Uherske Hradiste and the region called Hornacko and Moravske Kopanice. The programme of the ensemble is accompanied by cimbal's orchestra.
The ensemble "Hanisek" is from Sha-kvits Czech Republic. The village is near the city of Brjeslav. Its repertoire descends from the folklore of the district Hanizka Slovakia. The beauty of artwork is complemented with fascination for the children's talent and inspiration. The small dancers include in compositions hilarious and comic dialogues and tuneful songs. The performances are based on the waltzes and polkas, as well as more complicated folk dances.
ITALY The group „Holzhockar" (woodcutters) from Sappada - Italy, performs folklore influenced by Austria, because the village is in Alps near the border. The group was established in 1975. It brings back to life forgotten ancient dances from the village squares. The group is known and appreciated all over Europe for its originality and spontaneous style of its folklore. The group reproduces in dance the life of wood-cutters, miners, peasants and the mountain shepherds. The traditional costumes of „Holzhockar" are very colorful. The dances are accompanied by an orchestra.
![]() ![]() Hungary The Children Ensemble from Mosonszentmiklos - Hungary was formed in 2001. It united three groups from the north of Hungary. In the village live about 2500 people. About 100 children are dancers. The repertoire includes dances from Moldva, Mezoseg, Szek, Szatmar, Somogy and Rabakoz. The main task of ensemble is to adapt authentic folk dance for stage performance. The musical accompanient is by typical Hungarian folk music classical string instruments such as violin, viola and double-bass. The authentic sound is strengthened by the unique tune of flute and zither.
The ensemble took part in "Tengertanc Festival" in Gyongyos and was awarded with the golden medal. Moreover, the young dancers and musicians are permanent participants of "Katica Festival" in Mosonmagyarovar.

Serbia The folk group „Laza NanCid" is from VrSac - Serbia The group was founded a long time ago in 1919, but under another name. During its existence the name has changed a number of times.
The group works in the house where the famous writer, Lazo NanCid was born and lived in Vrsac and as the gesture of gratitude and memory to him, the group took his name and under this name has successfully existed since 2000. Since the foundation of the ensemble the many performances and important achievements by more than 10.000 members and their program have been watched by many, many people all around world. They are merited for a great number of awards and recognitions.
They participated in numerous international folk festivals in different countries such as: Romania, Hungary, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Greece, Sweeden, Canada and America.
The Dance Ensemble from KUD „Maxim Markovich" from Kosjeric - another group from our neighboring country to the West, presents unique polyphonic songs and original dances. The ensemble has existed since 1978 and performs not only Serbian folklore, but songs and dances by Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia and Montenegro. They are very valuable because of authentic costumes and traditional music instruments. The song group „Izvor" is highly regarded by the Serbian Ministry of Culture and presents its native folklore during national celebrations and on the international stage. The group cooperates with very distinctive musicians and composers. One of them is the world-famous Emir Kosturitsa.The Dance Ensemble has won many awards from festivals and competitions in Austria, Ukraine, Germany, Romania, Greece, Macedonia, Turkey and Hungary

Macedonia The folk ensemble of culture association „Tashe Miloshevski" from Resen - Macedonia, is taking part in the festival in Montana for the second time. The ensemble has existed
more than 6 decades. It presents Macedonian traditions through songs and dances in many countries around the world. They have won many awards. The secret of the group's success is in the love of native traditions, creative discipline, hard work and enthusiasm. The energy of the singing and dancing youths is combined with the wisdom of old people who know how to organize the ensemble and preserve the best achievements.

Poland The ensemble for songs and dances „Chodowiacy" is from Siedlce - Poland. It was established 35 years ago. It exists in the Cultural Center in the town. The ensemble performs songs and dances from the area around the cities of Lublin, Krakyw, Zheshuv. Children of „Chodowiacy" perform: mazurka, polonaise, kuviak and oberk. In the program of the ensemble are included elements by Slovakian, Russian and German folklore. The group is popular in Poland thanks to its TV-concerts.
„Chodowiacy" has been touring in Slovakia, Czech Republic, Germany, France, Russia, Italy and the Vatican. They have performed in front of Pope John-Paul II.

Romania The Folk Group. "Romanati" is from Caracal - Romania. The ensemble guards and respects traditions and popularize the folk heritage about 30 years. The ensemble's active repertoire includes over 100 traditional dances representing the regions: Romanati, Oas, Bistrifa-Nas&ud, Moldova, Bihor, Maramures, Bucovina, Dobrogea. It will perform in Montana preliminary songs and dances from the region of of Oltenia. There is a local group of calusari dancers in the program m of „Romanati". Seen as the most representative traditional Romanian dance, the „calus" is through its very origin closely linked to
Romanian history, holds an important place and is considered „Romanati" Folklore Group's business card. By the way these performances are similar to the same custom in the North-West Bulgaria.
The Folk Group „ Romanati" reveals the magic behind dance, the beauty of the songs and the traditional costumes, adding them high artistic value. The main contribution in thise respect is of the panpipe player Daniel Voicu, who writes the music, while the Maestro Florian Teodorescu designs the choreography.
The folk group tooks part in a lot of national and international folk festivals in the Republic of Moldova, Bulgaria, the Netherlands.
